Philip-Brian Freed, MS, PA
Experienced Healthcare Provider
Philip Freed is the Managing Partner of CMEDDS and a nationally recognized healthcare executive and advisor for the top Fortune 100 Medical device companies. With more than 35 years of experience in emergency medicine, public safety, and healthcare leadership. He has also consulted with hospitals, government agencies, and private organizations worldwide to develop and implement disaster preparedness, emergency response, and clinical training programs.
Mr. Freed began his career as an Emergency Medical Technician and subsequently served as a Paramedic & Firefighter, Rescue SCUBA Diver & FAA Pilot,
He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Springfield College in emergency management, graduated from Cornell University Medical College as a Surgeon Associate Physician Assistant, and later completed a Master’s degree from the University of Nebraska as an APP - Physician Associate.
Previously, he served as a founding member of the US Department of Homeland Security, FEMA, & the National Disaster Medical System. Mr. Freed has responded to numerous national emergency response operations, including the World Trade Center attacks, Anthrax response, multiple natural and man-made disasters, Hurricane Katrina, and the COVID-19 Jacob Javits field ICU hospitals.
His contributions have been recognized by numerous public and private organizations, including the City of New York, FDNY, DEA, and other agencies, for leadership and acts of heroism.

Edward Sawicki, NRP
NRP, EMT-Paramedic, and IV Infusion Provider
Edward Sawicki brings more than 37 years of leadership experience in Emergency Medical Services (EMS), healthcare operations, medical technology, and professional education. A Nationally Registered Paramedic since 1988, he has served in senior leadership roles across private, public, and volunteer EMS organizations, leading system development, operational integration, and organizational growth initiatives.
Mr. Sawicki holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Westfield State University and an MBA from Golden Gate University. His career includes leadership positions in EMS operations, disaster preparedness, healthcare education, and medical device development with industry leaders including Johnson & Johnson and Maquet Cardiovascular.
A nationally recognized EMS leader, educator, and author, Mr. Sawicki has contributed to EMS policy development, workforce advancement, and professional standards through leadership roles with the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) and publications including JEMS. He continues to provide strategic guidance in healthcare operations, emergency preparedness, and clinical education.

Karen Freed, NP
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Karen has spent her career in cardiothoracic surgery and critical care. She went on to further her nursing background as a Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry, specializing in anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Karen offers Remote Telemedicine for all patients, as well as our 1st Responder and military veteran Community.
